LPG Endermologie treatment session at Bayside Endermologie Beaumaris

The honest answer: it depends. But that’s not especially useful on its own, so let me give you the detail most clinics skip.

When clients come in for their first consultation, this is almost always the first question, and I think it’s the right one. You’re thinking about committing time and money to a programme. You want to know what you’re actually signing up for. That’s sensible.

What I tell clients is this: most people do an initial course of 6 to 10 sessions, usually booked weekly or fortnightly. Maintenance after that is monthly. The early sessions lay the groundwork. They’re not wasted, even though you won’t see dramatic change on day one. The later sessions in the course are where things start to shift noticeably. And the maintenance sessions are what keep those results going over time.

The initial course: what to expect and why it matters

LPG Endermologie works by stimulating the connective tissue and fibroblasts beneath the skin through a mechanical massage device that uses rollers and gentle suction. It’s not a one-session fix. It’s a programme, and the structure matters.

The first four or so sessions are priming. Your tissue is adapting to the treatment. You’ll feel good after each one, but visible changes are modest at this stage. Around session four to six, most clients start noticing something: clothes fitting differently, skin feeling firmer, the appearance of cellulite softening. By the end of the course, around session eight to ten, those early changes have had time to compound.

Think of it like physiotherapy. You don’t do two sessions and declare yourself fixed. The cumulative effect is the point.

That’s the mechanism. Here’s what it actually feels like: each session builds on the last. Your body finds its rhythm, and around session four to six, something shifts. Clients often describe it as noticing rather than seeing — clothes fit differently, skin feels different to touch, before the change is obvious in photos.

What affects how many sessions you need

No two clients are the same. There’s no standard here — every plan I put together is individually tailored to the person in front of me, because everyone’s body has its own rhythm. The main factors:

Your goals. Skin firmness and light cellulite reduction might be addressed in six sessions. More significant body contouring concerns, or clients who want to target multiple areas, typically benefit from the full ten-session course.

Your starting point. Longer-standing connective tissue changes take more time to respond. It’s physiology, not a reflection of anything you’ve done wrong. Clients who’ve been managing cellulite for ten-plus years generally need more sessions to see the same level of change as someone in the earlier stages.

Lifestyle habits. Hydration and moderate exercise genuinely support what we do in the clinic. Clients who drink enough water and stay active tend to see faster, more sustained results. I always mention this in the first consultation because it’s one of the few things you can control between sessions.

Consistency. Spacing matters. Weekly or fortnightly sessions in the initial course keep the tissue engaged. Long gaps between early sessions slow progress, not because sessions are “lost,” but because you’re not building on them as efficiently.

What actually happens in a session

Each session runs for 50 minutes. You’ll wear a fine bodysuit, provided at the clinic, that allows the LPG handpiece to glide smoothly over the skin. The sensation is a firm, rolling pressure. Most clients find it relaxing rather than uncomfortable, and some fall asleep.

There’s no downtime. You can drive yourself home, go back to work, or do whatever you had planned. Some clients notice mild redness or warmth in the treated area for an hour or two, which settles on its own.

The bodysuit keeps everything precise. It means we can work consistently across treatment zones without the skin shifting, which matters more than it might sound over a 10-session course.

Maintenance: why you can’t just stop

Once you’ve completed your initial course, monthly maintenance sessions are what preserve your results.

LPG Endermologie works by stimulating fibroblast activity in the connective tissue. That stimulation doesn’t run indefinitely on its own. If you stop entirely, the tissue gradually returns to its baseline. That’s not a failure of the treatment; it’s how the body works. Monthly sessions keep the process active and the results holding.

Many of my clients have been coming monthly for two or more years. They come in, we do their session, they leave looking and feeling better. It becomes part of the routine, which is exactly how it’s designed to work.

A realistic timeline

Session 1: Most clients are surprised by how comfortable it is. You may feel lighter or notice a slight reduction in puffiness afterward. No dramatic visual changes yet, but the work has started.

Sessions 2–3: Subtle improvements in how your skin feels. Some clients notice their clothes fitting slightly differently. Others don’t see much yet — this is normal.

Sessions 4–6: This is where most clients start seeing visible change. Skin texture improves. Cellulite appearance softens. The areas we’ve been targeting look and feel firmer.

Sessions 8–10: The compound effect is clear by now. Clients who’ve been consistent through the full course typically see the results they came in for.

Monthly maintenance: Results hold. Clients who keep their monthly sessions tend to maintain what they’ve built. Those who come back after a long gap usually need a refresher course of a few sessions to rebuild progress, so consistent maintenance genuinely pays off.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see results after just a few sessions?

Some clients notice subtle changes from session four onward. But three sessions isn’t a fair test of what Endermologie can do, and I’ll always be straight with you about that. The full initial course is where lasting results build. Clients who come in understanding the timeline tend to be the most satisfied.

Is there a point where I need fewer maintenance sessions?

Not in my experience. Monthly maintenance is what keeps the fibroblast activity going. Some clients manage every six weeks if their results are holding well, but monthly is what we recommend and what works consistently.

What if I miss a session?

Don’t stress. Life happens. Book back in when you can and let me know where you’re up to. We’ll pick up from there. The one thing to avoid is long, unplanned breaks during the initial course. That’s the stage where consistency matters most.
